Water Damage Emergency Response
After Carolina Water Damage Restoration’s mitigation team received an emergency call after hours about a leaking pipe behind a refrigerator, they responded immediately. The technicians arrived to see water flooding the kitchen floor of the North Raleigh home, also affecting a dining room. While an emergency plumber fixed the leak, Carolina Water Damage started mitigating the damages. After pulling up the vinyl floor in the refrigerator area where the leak was, we learned that this had been a low profile chronic problem until now- we uncovered a large patch of rotted subfloor. After removing the non-salvageable subfloor, vinyl, drywall, and insulation, our team deployed an array of dehumidifiers, fans, and other equipment to dry the home as soon as possible. It is important to dry the home quickly and thoroughly to prevent any secondary damages such as mold or FURTHER rot in this particular case. In the picture below you can see the refrigerator area after we removed the rotted subfloor.
